Port O'Connor Library

We are Friends of the Port O’Connor Library

Founded in 1988, our organization is dedicated to enhancing library facilities, services and resources. We also encourage donations, gifts, endowments and bequests to the Port O’Connor branch of the Calhoun County Public Library.

The Friends of the Port O’Connor Library, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit service organization.

Our activities include fundraising to support building and construction projects; collaboration with the local schools and community groups on special projects and events; securing materials that are beyond the ordinary budget of the library; recruiting volunteers to supplement paid staff for special events or programs at the library.

We welcome all who share our goals and vision to become a member.

Another fantastic turnout and great event in support of our libraries building expansion fund. Thank you, Josie’s Mexican Food and Cantina, Jim Hooper and Terry Wright for all the support to the Friends of the Port O’Connor Library, and the Port O’Connor Library Branch.

Great turnout for our January children’s program Dolphin Slide Show and Game Day (with bonus pirates in attendance). Much thanks to Kimberly Clark for her amazing presentation, and to Laura and Greg Gear. for sharing and teaching their pirate game Rattlin’ Bones to the children.

The January adult program Come Create and Conversate was a huge success with everyone having fun socializing, crafting and creating.

Port O’Connor Library Branch celebrating 5 years of service to our community.

A Look Back at the Past Year ‘22-’23! It was a great one, and remember, your library friends are YOU!! Members of your community, really just hanging out at the library. Take a look and see what we’ve been doing and get ready for a fun upcoming year, starting with the children’s program in September.
